This is a really useful workaround for getting happy customers to leave a review for you on your Google+ Local page - which as we all know if vitally important for your ranking on Google Places and Maps. The more reviews you get the higher you place.
Getting people, who do not have a Google+ account, to leave a review is like asking them to jump through hoops of fire. 9 times out of 10 they are just not going to do it. But with this solution, they can now leave a review on your Google+ Local page if they have Google Maps on an Android or iOS mobile device such as smartphone or tablet, which is a very high percentage of people.
To write a review they only need a general Google account (Gmail, YouTube etc will do) and if they don't they can set this up with one click inside the Google Maps app. They never have to go near Google+ if they don't want to.
